Multiple large-scale speaker forums at the San Diego Natural History Museum

Hosted speakers from:
    Scripps Institution of Oceanography
    University of California, San Diego
    University of Arizona
    Princeton University
    Lloyd’s of London Reinsurance Company

Attendance numbers above 500 each lecture with publicity on local television and radio news. The free lecture series continues through sustained independent funding and fills the house every time.
Speaker forum which was held at UC Davis and brought speakers from Scripps Institution of Oceanography on water resources, and UC Davis on agricultural economics, atmospheric science, and ecology.
Received the City of San Diego Climate Protection Champion Award along with San Diego’s Climate Smart Initiative, and the San Diego Natural History Museum
Staffed booths at the 2005 and 2007 Rotary International conventions in Chicago and Salt Lake City wherein a Network was developed of over 600 Rotarians who were interested in starting similar projects, gathering information, or simply attaining speakers about climate change. We have maintained these connections and continue to communicate and support these clubs from around the world in their efforts.
Organized a televised speaking session at the San Diego City Attorney’s office with Dan Cayan and Ralph Keeling of Scripps Institution of Oceanography to help inform our city’s leaders about local impacts of climate change.
Financially supported and help build a biodiesel reactor with undergraduate students at UCSD. This project is the first of many steps to process the used waste grease from restaurants on campus and turn it into high quality biodiesel to be used in buses in and around the UCSD campus. Staffed Booths at local environmental gatherings and “green fairs.”
Participated in briefing sessions to state and local officials regarding solutions to the challenges of climate change.
Help fund the creation of a science curriculum at UCSD’s CALSPACE program designed to educate students about climate change.
